Artist Bio

Julie Keller

Originally from Minnesota, Julie Keller fell in love with the warm breezes and laid-back lifestyle of Key West more than twelve years ago—and now proudly calls the island home.

From an early age, Julie was always creating and exploring the outdoors. Her love of drawing, painting, and photography led her to pursue a degree in Graphic Design. She went on to spend nearly two decades managing the creative team at a major retailer of outdoor goods. During that time, she also co-owned Evoke Gallery in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, with her daughter. The gallery hosted artists from across the country and was selected to present the 2007 Jewelry and Wearable Art Glass Exhibition for the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.

That exposure to the beauty of glass sparked Julie’s fascination with the medium. After taking her first fused glass class, she purchased a kiln and began teaching herself the art of glass fusing. Before long, she had established her own studio and was exhibiting in galleries and at St. Paul Art Crawls. She was later selected as the featured artist to create more than seventy fused glass pieces for a national medical conference held in Minnesota.

In 2014, Julie relocated to Key West, where she and her partner began restoring historic homes—each home featuring one of her signature glass creations. Today, her work is inspired by the coastal beauty and vibrant energy of island life. Her glass pieces reflect the movement of the sea, the play of light, and the serenity of the shore.

Julie’s work can be found in Tookey’s gallery in the Shops at Mallory Square in Key West, on her website, and at occasional shows at The Studios of Key West. She welcomes commissions and loves collaborating with collectors to create custom works of art that capture their own connection to the islands.
